Our dedicated and enthusiastic team are truly passionate about the jobs they do and are committed to providing the highest standards of veterinary care with compassion and empathy. Our staff come to work because they love what they do and we believe this positive energy transfers to our patients and their owners. Our happy, close-knit team help create a calm friendly environment putting your pet at ease from the moment they step foot in our building until they bound back out again.

Jenny Heath BVetMed(Hons) MRCVS
Founder, Director and Veterinary Surgeon

Jenny grew up in Worthing and after spending five years at the Royal Veterinary College in London,
decided to return to West Sussex to practice as a veterinary surgeon.

Jenny has completed a Postgraduate certificate in
Diagnostic Imaging and has a particular interest in advanced abdominal
ultrasound and heart scans. You will also find her on the list of Fear Free
Certified Professionals working not only to look out for your pets physical
health but also their emotional wellbeing.

Jenny shares her home with her bouncy Golden Retriever called Frisbee!

Natalie Pink RVN NCert (Anaesth)
Registered Veterinary Nurse

A true local, Natalie grew up in Pagham and has lived and worked in the local area ever since!

Natalie has a certificate in Anaesthesia and is an ISFM certified Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional.

She shares her life with a range of creatures, including little Huckleberry the sausage, four cats- Bear, Bean, Boodley and Betty, Stavros the tortoise and Jiggy the horse.
Gayle Bardgett
Founder, Director and Practice Manager


Since graduating from University in 2003, Gayle has worked in a variety of roles, from being a photographer to working in maritime anti-piracy, but found the job she loves most when she started as a Veterinary Practice Manager in 2017.

Growing up Gayle had many different pets including dogs, cats, rabbits and even a goat called Billy!

Lilly Inman-Meron BA VetMB MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Lilly has been a brilliant addition to our veterinary team, joining us in 2024. She graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2021 and has quickly established herself as a confident and capable general practice vet.

Lilly is known for her friendly, approachable manner and takes the time to make both pets and their owners feel at ease. She has a strong all-round skill set and a genuine passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Outside of work, Lilly enjoys keeping active with running and cycling and loves spending time baking when she gets the chance.

Cécile Soyer DVM MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon

We’re delighted to welcome Cécile to our team.

Cécile qualified as a vet at Maisons-Alfort, near Paris, in 1996 and spent several years working around Paris in both general practice and oncology. In 2011, she moved to the UK to further develop her oncology skills at the Royal Veterinary College in London, before returning to general practice.

Cécile has a real passion for oncology and geriatric animal health, with a special place in her heart for treating our much-loved “oldies.” Her calm and compassionate approach will be very welcome to both our patients and their owners.

Richard Edwards MSc MA VetMB MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Richard has worked as a veterinary surgeon in West Sussex for the last 32 years. He brings to Huckleberries a wealth of knowledge and a keen interest in all creatures exotic!

Living locally with his menagerie, which includes many dogs, cats, horses, goats and peacocks, he will be a familiar face to many of you!

David Sparrow BVMSci MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating from the University of Surrey Veterinary School, David has recently started his career here at Huckleberry’s. He has a keen interest in Dermatology, Cardiology and all things independent! 

 

Having grown up with more than 30 cats, dogs, and guinea pigs, it’s no wonder why he looks forward to meeting all of your treasured family pets.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, climbing and working alongside start-ups.

Aimee Dubben RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse

Aimee grew up in Bognor Regis and before becoming a veterinary nurse she worked as a dog groomer.

She has two guinea pigs, Charlie and Lucas-Too and although she currently doesn’t have a dog of her own, Aimee is a trusted dog sitter and has usually got extra canine house guests!

Aimee is an ISFM certified Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional.

Andrea Hogg VN

Veterinary Receptionist and Practice Administrator

Andrea grew up and lives in Worthing, but for the last 30 years or more has been a familiar face in veterinary practice in Bognor and Chichester.

Andrea is a qualified veterinary nurse, but these days you’ll find her on reception or in the office helping out with the admin.

At home, she is kept busy with a large family, 2 cats Ava and Paul and Archie the cheeky sausage!

Meg Sennitt RVN CertVNECC
Registered Veterinary Nurse

Meg is another local girl who grew up in Bognor Regis and, after leaving university, she has returned to work in the area as a veterinary nurse.

Meg has a certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and is an ISFM certified Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional. She has a terrier, Sandy, who she rescued a few years ago and two guinea pigs called Maurice and King Julian!
Sue Harris
Veterinary Receptionist

Sue is local to the area and has worked in the veterinary industry for the past few years. She always has a smile on her face and is great with humans and animals of all kinds.

A font of knowledge, Sue has a variety of pets at home including, four dogs: Mia, Bella, Ava and Lola, Misty the Chinchilla and three tortoises: Gertie, Steve McQueen and Cary Grant!
Amie Van der Hut RVN NCert (ECC)
Registered Veterinary Nurse

Amie grew up in Chichester and prior to becoming a veterinary nurse she volunteered at the Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre in Sidlesham. Whilst working at the centre Amie rescued two cats of her own, Lightening and Storm!

Amie has a certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and is an ISFM certified Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional.
Tilly Brooks
Veterinary Nursing Assistant

Tilly loves animals in all shapes and sizes, whether with fur, feathers or scales, and has worked with animals ever since she left school!

She shares her home with a Labrador called Margo and has a horse called Inca who keeps her busy.

An absolute asset in all areas of the practice, we find it hard to understand how any clinic could operate without a Tilly!
Sue Howling
Animal Nursing Assistant

Sue has worked in the veterinary industry for many years and will be a familiar face to many of you.

Sharing her home with five dogs, there isn’t much she hasn’t experienced when it comes to pet ownership, so she is great for a bit of advice and loves an excuse for a chat!

Sue is a very experienced breeder and can answer all of your puppy or breeding related questions. She also has a horse named Jiggy, who is always getting into mischief and keeps her busy in her spare time!

Anna Holden
Veterinary Nursing Assistant


Anna joined the Huckleberry team in July 2022. Working in all areas of the practice Anna can often be seen with a smile on her face and a mop in her hand… she keeps a tidy ship! 

Having worked with many of us at a previous practice Anna has slotted right back in and is an asset to have with us! 

She shares her home with 3 labradors, 2 Springer Spaniels and 2 very naughty Jack Russell’s along with her horse, Magic who is now 30 years old. 

Pete van Dongen DVM, MRCVS, CertVR, CCRT

Regular Visiting Veterinary Surgeon

Pete has over 35 years’ experience in small animal practice, as well as over 20 years of experience in complementary treatments, such as canine rehabilitation / physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. He is one of only a small number of vets in the UK with the CCRT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist) qualification from the US based CRI (Canine Rehabilitation Institute). He is also a former dog agility competitor, judge and instructor, and a former British Team Vet for the dog agility World Championships.

Currently he is working in general practice as a part-time locum vet and can be seen occasionally helping us out when one of our regular vets are away.

In November 2021 he started, together with his fiancée and vet Dr. Rimante Butkute, PeRiHab, an independent, family-owned, vet-led, mobile canine rehabilitation service for Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, offering a bespoke, personalised, home-based service in canine and feline rehabilitation, chronic pain management, osteoarthritis management, Western acupuncture and Western herbal medicine. Jo Holt BSc BVSc MRVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Jo graduated from Liverpool University in 2013. 

Loving all creatures great and small Jo started her veterinary career looking after large animals. She now lives on a farm and works here at Huckleberry’s, creating the perfect balance!

Jo has two collie dogs, Zaff and Badger, lots of cows and a fair few sheep- she is one busy lady!
