Senior Cat Health Screening
Give your older cat the best chance at a long and healthy life
Kidney Disease and Diabetes
As part of our commitment to helping your cat stay healthy for as long as possible, we’re offering free screening for kidney disease and diabetes in senior cats. This simple check can help detect early signs of disease—often before your cat shows any outward symptoms.
Chronic kidney disease can occur in cats of any age but is more commonly seen in middle to older-age cats (over 9 years). Estimates suggest that around 81% of cats over the age of 15 have some degree of CKD present.
However, whilst this condition is very common, it often goes unnoticed until significantly advanced- cats are experts at hiding illness. When caught in the early stages, treatment and management, such as dietary changes, hydration support, and regular monitoring, can slow the progression of the disease and help your cat feel better for longer.
We are now offering FREE early screening for kidney disease and diabetes, for all cats aged 9 years and older, to help detect these problems before they cause serious illness.
If you would like your cat to participate then please pop in to collect a free urine collection kit and book an appointment at one of our blood sampling clinics.
We will analyse your cat’s urine free of charge and take a small blood sample to check for early signs of kidney disease using the SDMA test. This test can pick up changes well before standard tests do, giving us a head start in keeping your cat happy and healthy.
Collect your free urine collection kit and call or ‘PetsApp’ us to reserve a space in one of our blood sampling clinics to give your cat the best chance of a longer, healthier life.
